Tuffet Class



Make a piece of furniture and learn basic upholstery skills from Maggie Scraper. This is a 2 days class and Maggie has graciously lowered her class fee so don't delay! This class will fill up fast!
Maggie will have kits available for purchase ($80) and she uses the highest density foam and high quality upholstery batting for your tuffet. You will love this class. Join us!


Tuffet Workshop Supply List

One jelly roll or 32 2.5" strips cut from yardage, along with 1/2 yard of coordinating yardage
--OR--
2.5 yard total of cotton quilting fabrics with no matching requirements
     1/2 yard will be used for covering button and bottom of tuffet. 
      2 yards can be a combination of 2-8 coordinating fabrics.

Note:  I encourage you to wait until class to purchase fabric at you first session.  Tuffets can be made using fabric in several different ways resulting in entirely different looks.  I will have tuffets and/or pictures to show you at the first class.  Your choice may change yardage and cutting requirements.

2 yard of light-weight, fusible, woven interfacing.  (SF101 Shape Flex by Pellon is my favorite.)
2 yard muslin

piecing thread in a color that will blend with fabrics

dental floss

curved needle with large eye

12" straight upholstery needle

iron finger

poster board (minimum size 17" x 17"

fabric glue (stick or pen)

12" add-a-quarter ruler

approximately 12" x 3" piece of cardstock or template plastic

sharpie

awl or full size screwdriver (head type of screwdriver does not matter)

hem gauge or small ruler

paper scissors

fabric scissors

pressing ham, if you own one

sewing machine, in good working order

owner's manual

regular sewing supplies including pins, 90/12 size machine needles, rotary cutter, mat and long ruler, fabric marking pen or pencil, and any other sewing supplies you prefer

tuffet kit (I will bring them to class.)

tuffet fusible pattern and formal instructions (I will bring them to class.)

four tuffet feet-order from me at the first class or get "finish yourself" feet from another source such as Home Depot or Lowe's
