Tamarack Jacket Pattern Overview:
Designed with the transitional seasons in mind, the Tamarack Jacket is a warm and stylish quilted coat perfect for spring and fall layering. Follow one of the two quilting designs included, or design your own to make your Tamarack totally original to you! You’ll stay toasty thanks to the inner layer of cotton or wool batting, while the roomy welt pockets will keep your belongings safe and your hands warm. Techniques involved include straight seams, basic quilting, sewing darts, inserting welt pockets, and applying bias binding.

Why is this a 2 Day Class?
Step 1 - Preparing a quilt or fabric that will need to be quilted that will be "cut up" to make the jacket or if you have a quilt at home that you want to cut up, or selecting fabric
Step 2 - Constructing the jacket (You will bring Pre-Quilted Pattern Sections to class, All Cutting for the Jacket will happen during class)
What to do before Class:
Decide on the pattern you want to use for your Jacket
Select fabric
You can selected a quilt “top” to make into your jacket or you will need 3 yards of 45 inch wide fabric-
Lining fabric. I purchased 4 yards which was more than I needed but I will use for the binding.
1st Day of Class We Will:
Measure everyone and determine the size of your jacket - pattern sizes are traditionally different than the size you buy in a store.
Trace your pattern onto Pattern Ease.
Begin making your quilt top if you are going for the quilted jacket look. This process is the longest step.
Supplies needed (For Part 2 of Class)
Sewing machine or Serger
Normal sewing notions (scissors, etc)
